All the answers to our most frequent questions

  • When will my order ship?

    After your payment is verified by the payment gateway, it takes up to 1 working day to process and ship your order. Purchases made after 9 am CAT will not be shipped out until the next business day. If you order after 9 am CAT on a Friday, your order will likely be shipped out on the following Monday.
  • Will I have to pay duties or taxes?

    Your order may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. If there are duties and taxes charged in your country, the general amount is about 20% of the purchase price. However, this is just a general guideline and may vary depending on the country to which the order was shipped. You should contact your customs office for specific amounts and percentages. Colton James cannot control these duties and taxes and is not responsible for any additional amounts owed. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; please contact your local customs office for further information. In instances, custom agents may delay delivery of some packages.
  • I need to change something on my order. How can I do that?

    If you need to make any changes to you order, contact us as soon as possible. We will be able to make changes provided the package has not been shipped. If it has been shipped, there is unfortunately nothing we can do without incurring extra charges.
  • What does it mean if my order status is "Unfulfilled"?

    Unfulfilled means your order has been successfully paid for and is confirmed by us, but has not yet been assembled and shipped. Once you have received notification that your order is "Fulfilled", it will be on its way to you!
  • Why was my order cancelled?

    If your order was unexpectedly cancelled, chances are that the fraud filter from our payment gateway marked your order as fraudulent. If you are certain that that is not true, please contact us and we'll assist. Alternatively, please order again with a Paypal account. If you do not have Paypal, you can easily sign up at www.Paypal.com
  • What type of movements are used?

    All our watches use high-torque quartz movements made by Seiko. These are the industry-leading quartz movements which offer exceptionally reliable performance and impeccable accuracy.
  • Are Colton James watches waterproof?

    All of our watches are water resistant to 3ATM of pressure. This is splash proof and will be perfectly fine in quick, accidental incidents where the watch is submerged. As water damage is not included in the warranty, we recommend avoiding all contact with water.
  • What type of leather do Colton James watches and straps use?

    Our leather straps are full-grain Italian Calf Leather. This is the best possible cut of leather you can find, and will provide immediate comfort straight out of the box. The straps themselves will develop character and age beautifully over time.
  • Can the buckles on Colton James Leather straps break?

    Our leather straps feature our custom full-stainless steel design, which also uses a stainless steel loop rather than a leather loop. This was particularly chosen for its premium look, as well as because there is almost no chance of it breaking.
  • What glass do Colton James watches use?

    All our watches use 100% Sapphire crystal. This is almost entirely scratch-proof (Only scratched by a sharp diamond). You'd struggle to find alternative watches offering this for less than $1000.
  • Is there a warranty?

    All our watches are covered by a 2 year warranty. This covers all working mechanical parts and excludes water damage, normal wear and tear, batteries, accidental glass damage, scratches, strap damage, or theft. Straps are not covered under warranty once they are in a 'worn' condition.
  • How do I change the battery?

    All of our watch batteries can be found at any electronic store, as well as most watch repair or jewelry shops for a very small cost. Any watch repair shop or Jeweler should be able to assist you with the battery replacement. We don't suggest replacing the battery yourself, as it requires some special tools and you could damage the watch.
  • How do I become a Colton James reseller? Do you have any authorized resellers?

    We do currently have authorized sellers all around the globe. If you are interested in becoming a reseller please send all the details about your store and your proposal to info@coltonjameswatch.com.
  • Why is my discount code not working?

    If you have a discount code and it is not working, it means that the code has expired or you have an item in your cart which the code cannot apply to. Note that discount codes will not work with items that are currently on sale.
  • What is your returns policy?

    We offer free returns on items that qualified for free shipping. The return must be initiated no later than 30 days from delivery. A full refund, free replacement or store credit may be claimed once the item has successfully been returned. Please note that the refund will only be given once the product has been received and it is verified to be unworn and undamaged. Expedited shipping, VAT and duties are non-refundable since this money is not received by Colton James. Note that items that did not qualify for free shipping, or items bought under a sale or the use of discount coupons still qualify for a refund, however the shipping cost of the item will be deducted from your refund.
